More winter means more time to get ready for the spring fishing opener It's
been a while since my last entry. It has been a long difficult winter
for me. I spent about two-and-a-half months with a serious kidney
infection and I wasn't able to do much fishing this winter. As of a week
or so ago, the doctor has finally given me a clean bill of health and I

The winter of 2012-13 has abruptly changed since
the last Winter Severity Index report in early February. Over 30 inches of snow has fallen in
the last month in Northern St Louis County, with three storms in the 6-inch-plus
category.For northern forest whitetails, the going has gotten tougher. All snow measurement stations are currently over the 15 inch threshold. March 27, Luke Jordan, of Minnetrista, Minn., left Lake Sakakawea State Park in North Dakota with a plan to hike the 4,600 mile North Country Trail, ending in October in Vermont.If he reaches his goal, he will join an elite group of only three people to thru-hike the North Country Scenic Trail. It's

After
spending a good part of my young adult life fishing northern
Minnesota - mostly the Alexandria and Perham areas - I had a pretty good
idea of what I wanted to show with my tables. The hard part was how
to make them look as real as possible.
